The most common problems are an uneven impression caused by damp wood, burnt edges caused by excessive heat or a faint impression caused by insufficient heat. A dry surface, the correct temperature and a test impression on scrap material help prevent these problems.
Always apply the brand mark before varnishing or staining the wood. You cannot brand a varnished or stained surface. Branding after oiling is sometimes possible, but we advise against it as well. Burn your logo into the wood first and apply the finish afterwards.
Usually not. In some cases, lightly sanding the wood can help remove small scorch marks around the logo if too much heat or pressure was applied. No other finishing is generally required. We are happy to advise you on the best finish for your material.
